Staging a listing before the first open house
Five edits that photograph well and still feel like a real home when buyers walk in.
Staging is not a new house. It is a clearer path through the one you already have: less visual noise, more landing spots, honest light.
Do these five things first
Clear counters, one plant in the living room, and beds that look finished from the doorway. That is most of the work.
Buyers remember the rooms they could already live in.
- Edit surfaces until a camera can find a horizon line.
- Leave one personal object so the house does not feel vacant.
- Open shades for the photographer, then reset for the tour.
Schedule photos after staging, not before. A second shoot is more expensive than a Saturday of editing.
